Robert Connelly has been practicing law in Arizona since 2001.  He represents individuals and businesses in complex civil litigation involving commercial and contractual disputes; real estate law; insurance defense and insurance coverage obligations; family law matters; administrative actions involving licensed individuals and businesses; and catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death litigation.

Prior to joining Dessaules Law Group, Robert was a partner in a Phoenix law firm concentrating on insurance defense litigation.  He has appeared in and litigated matters throughout Arizona, in both state and federal court.  He is also experienced in disputes involving administrative and regulatory agencies.  As well, he has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation, binding arbitration, and actions before quasi-judicial bodies (such as the American Arbitration Association). 

Robert is a summa cum laude graduate of the Arizona State University Honors College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism.  He earned his Juris Doctor degree at the Arizona State University College of Law, where he was twice recognized as a Willard Pedrick Scholar and twice included in Who’s Who Among American Law Students (2000 and 2001).  He is a 2006 graduate of the Arizona College of Trial Advocacy.

Robert is also an honorably discharged United States Navy veteran, and was a member of the first combat unit to enter the Persian Gulf and Kuwaiti territorial waters immediately following Iraq’s 1990 invasion of Kuwait.  He was awarded a number of awards and citations for his service, including the Navy Unit Commendation (the naval unit equivalent of the Silver Star, which he received for “exemplary conduct . . . exceptional professional ability, initiative and loyal dedication to duty” in action against Iraqi forces); Southwest Asia Expeditionary Medal (with star); Battle E Medal; National Defense Medal; Sea Service Medal (awarded twice); and Good Conduct Medal.

Robert has co-authored several articles based on his research in the field of product safety, industry stewardship and regulatory and administrative compliance issues which have been published in peer-reviewed academic journals.
