Rachel has practiced law in Arizona for more than twenty years. Her broad range of experience includes employment law, administrative law, commercial and civil litigation, and municipal law. In addition to her traditional legal background, she also spent time working as an advisor to the Mayor and City Manager of the City of Glendale.
Throughout her career, Rachel’s expertise has been in representing public and private employers and employees in discrimination cases, sexual harassment claims, employment contract disputes, wage and hour claims, breach of non-compete and confidentiality agreements, independent contractor cases, whistleblower lawsuits, and wrongful termination actions. We have litigated cases filed under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Arizona Wage Act, and various other State and Federal employment laws. She also provides assistance with administrative proceedings, including EEOC charges, Department of Labor audits, and unemployment claims.
In addition, Rachel regularly drafts and revises employee handbooks, employment contracts, and independent contractor agreements; advises employers and employees generally regarding the day-to-day issues that arise in the course of operating and working with a business; and provides in-house training to educate employees and maintain compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
While most attorneys focus exclusively on either employees or employers, Rachel’s experience on both sides of employment-related matters gives her a unique perspective that distinguishes her in this field.
Rachel is a contributing author to the Arizona Employment Law Handbook and a member of the Editorial Board. She has also presented numerous seminars geared towards business owners and human resources professionals across the Valley.
Rachel graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1994. Prior to law school, she graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts.
